Dear customers,

We are providing our contact in case there is something we can do to constructively help you. However, please note we will unable to specifically address your queries regarding specific vehicles. The documents and informations provided in this site are just a small collection from the year 2000 to 2008 and such practice carry on to this date for which you may ask Mercedes Benz to respond based on your model and chassis number. Mercedes Benz contacts can be found on their webpage.

For me, it was simple. I bought a new E class back in 2001 and it was so terrible to start with – so plasticky and plain on the inside, and so dreadful in terms of performance, that I swore to never buy another Mercedes and leave the brand to the new money upstarts who so love it!

My litany of complaints:

My new car developed three major problems, all within the first few thousand kilometers.

The car had driven just 1000 km. in all, and the sensors stopped working. Every time I start the car, the ESP, ABS and other sensor alarms all start going off, advising me next to visit the workshop! I have started ignoring them, which kind of defeats the purpose of having this complex sensory system in place. Having sent the car back to the workshop on three occasions within the first 2000 km. these remain unfixed!

This appears to clearly be a recurring defect in the car. Perhaps I have been given a defective car?

I seem to be facing a lot of trouble with my almost-new E220 CDI, which was purchased new in October 2001. First, the sensors stopped working when the car had been driven only a few hundred kilometers. I got rather alarmed, when I was a few hundred kilometers outside Delhi, and the car LCD ordered me to return to the workshop!

That repaired, now at the ripe old age of 2800 kilometers, my car’s air-conditioning system has altogether stopped working. I have checked the fuses and they seem to be fine. I have been trying to call T&T Motors since Saturday evening, and their weekend duty guard seems set on banging the phone down on me, without giving any information.

I am such a careful driver (the condition of my car stands testimony to this) and I drive very gently, so there is no way that poor driving conditions could be responsible for the airconditioning having stopped working.

I can’t drive the car till the air-conditioning is restored or repaired, depending on what is wrong with it.

In changing the sensor, I find that the car has been driven close to 150 kilometers. How can this be possible? It has merely gone to your showroom and back to my of***e, ostensibly. Also, a full tank of fuel is now down to a three-quarter-full tank. Perhaps someone used the car unauthorizedly while it was at your workshop? Please investigate. I also noticed over six fresh scratches, among other places, around the driver’s side door opening handle. Again, please investigate.

I recall that someone else was driven in a customer’s car when I came to test drive the Merc, prior to buying it. I am concerned that my own car was perhaps used as a temporary test driver vehicle during the sensor repair job, which would easily explain the extra kilometers runs, and the scratches on the paintwork…

I think I wouldn’t have faced such early problems if I had bought even a Maruti 800!

I had bought a S-350L in 2009.
There were many sub-standard parts that were required to be replaced much earlier than the time it usally comes up for replacement.

On 2 separate occasions (12 months apart) the fuel indicator has failed & i’ve been stuck in the middle of the road with and empty tank and a fuel gauge reading as 1/2 full.

The dealer where I send it for servicing has tried to stick me with a big bill for the same, but after writing to MB india they waived it off. What I don’t understand is why must I do all this gadha majuri for a fault that should be owned up and fixed by the company.

On the second occasion one of the airmatic struts failed (which should not happen ever). Again the dealer tried to charge me for it citing that the 2+1 yrs warranty expired 2 months ago! This time I refused to pay again & made the dealer follow up with MB which promptly made the changes without charge.

I own cars of all the 3 German auto companies and find MB to be the worst of the worst as far as after sales goes.

We have owned 3 mercedes benz and I may say that all 3 cars have been an absolute waste of money.
1)E Class
2)C Class
3)S Class

I couldnt have been more disappointed with these cars.

My E Class since we bought it had issues with the AC. Nobody was able to solve the problem. The car stopped in around 1 foot of water and it cost me a hell lot of money to get that fixed. Even a maruti could go through double the depth of that water on that day.

My C Class might have had all parts on the car changed.
The alternator failed-which I am sure was a lie.

The AC coil has been replaced more than I can even count now. I did a bit of research and that particular C180 had the coil placed in the wrong place due to which this problem occured which was rectified with the newer Kompressor models. Why did MBIL not have the guts to accept this and change it?
In the same car even today they are not able to diagnose why the AC changes the speed on its own even when the Auto Climate is Off. Car went to the dealer here and they said you need to change the whole thing because our computer shows no fault-even Mercedes Benz have no clue what is going on with their products.
The Fuel Pump of the car failed into its 3rd year.
The ignition coils have been replaced many times.
I have contacted MBIL ample of times and all they give are absolutely rude replies.
I am quite sure Cama Motors would have a much more elaborate data on the things that have gone wrong in this car.
It’s a pity to say that my car might have been to the workshop for physical repairs only once in these many years as against every 3-6months for electrical failures and faults.
The clothing from the ceiling has come out and i have been told to have a person who does Sofa’s do it for me as they cannot do it! Funny just imagining calling a Sofa person to fix my Merc.
The lcd display behind the steering is also gone.

Coming to my S350. It has been 7 years now and MBIL havent found the problem in the AC of my car. They have had people come down from Pune but they still could not find the problem. They fail to diagnose it saying our computer can not go beyond a point so change a part worth Rs.1 lakh then our computer MIGHT be able to detect the problem. And after that if you might need to replace the compressor and other few things which might cost you a total of Rs.5lakh and I was asked to rather get rid of this car and buy their new S Class. Frustrated with the replies I sent my car to Cama Motors after having a talk with Mr.Cama and it took him 1 day and cost me Rs10,000 to atleast find a temporary solution to my problem.
My S350 had also met with an accident and the airbags failed to open in the car and after reading the articles where 2 unfortunate people who had blind trust in Mercedes lost their lives I feel that even my car is equally unsafe.

I do agree that all cars might have issues but when you spend lakhs of hard earned money in buying what you think is possibly the best car you can buy in India to go through all of this as a customer is an absolute pity with MBIL not ready to take any responsibilty at all and just giving rude replies(more of LIES) in the end.

It’s really good to see that Cama Motors have have taken the intiative to reveal the facts that have been blinding us customers since more than a decade.

I have never had such issues with the cheapest of cars.

I hope that MBIL open their eyes and do the corrective for all of this otherwise they have already lost out to BMW and Audi.

Dear all,

My C220 Avantgarde, has a defective light switch from the time it was delivered and the problem was not known till recently, when I opened my garage and found the parking lights on with the switch in off position. The battery was dead almost daily because of this. I complained to MB of facebook and they took my car to the workshop and informed me that the switch was defective and needs to be replaced at a cost of Rs. 9000+. What I fail to understand is that does Mercedes Benz have such poor quality control on their products that a head light switch which in the cheapest available cars lasts the life of the car, does not last even 3 years? The vehicle has hardly been used (17000 Km on the clock) and is hardly ever used at night, which means that this switch is rarely operated. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of your product for which I have paid a premium. Further, the problem has persisted right through the warranty period and was not discovered. The workshop renewed other parts instead! A year back I was out of town with the car and the battery went dead due to this defective switch. Not knowing the cause of the problem, I ended up putting in an expensive new battery. My experience with this product had been a very sorry one.

I bought mercedes c250 last year on 26th nov. My registration number is HR26BW2300. Its been a year now and I haven’t been issued a second key for my car. Inspite of repeated reminders and personal visits I didn’t get a proper response from your service m***ger. I never expected this type of service from mercedes.

I regret buying Mercedes and now hold it in the lowest regard for service.

I have an S-250,2005 model.
It’s loosing it’s neumativc pressure at the rear side if kept idle for long hours (more than 6-8 hours and the situation aggrevates during winter)and car body sits on the wheel. Both rear side shock absorber / suspension have been checked with no problems found. Replaced even the control valve feeding the rear side suspensions, but no use. Pls advise the possible cause

I bought V class i month ago in Croatia. Be aware !! If you are not ordering intelligent lights you will get halogen but no one will told you and you will not see anywhere that because of it – V class will come with very very bad daylights .Yellow like eggs. This looks really pathetic as I feel now when Mercedes dealer do not care . They did not explain , give false documents about order details and now surprised that I am not satisfied with such ugly daylights. If someone like to see it can have from airmailg@gmail.com . And some other true information about V class
